stamp of approval saturday #14.
How you doin’? Me? I’m doing swell and heading to Paris today. Au revoir! Enjoy this week’s Internet finds. I think they’re purdy good.
Apocaplypstic: Everyone’s Facebook stalking worst nightmare comes to life in Facebook Sucks.
Bridge Keeping Traveler: Mariella is a well-traveled and even more well-written German blogger who explores Being German and the Issue of Patriotism. People ask me all the time how Germans feel about their past, so here’s one thorough point of view.
Buzzfeed: If you’ve ever been to the superstore, then you will definitely laugh at Bed Bath & Beyond is a Palace of Lies.
Buzzfeed: Yep, this is indeed my Every Day on the Internet.
Graceless Lady: I normally associate Pinterest with good finds but Alissa found something utterly disgusting.
Living in Yellow: Erin hosted a link up where people give shout outs to their favorite bloggers. It’s a great way to discover new blogs to read! Here’ s my post if you missed it.
Mashable: Friend Supports Hospitalized BFF With Adorable Letter is 50 First Dates in real life.
Yes & Yes: This interview True Story: My Dad Kidnapped Me and Raised Me Abroad sent me chills. It’s amazing the loopholes international law opens.
Yes & Yes: It’s so worth reading over these Skills You Should Master Before You Travel, but if you don’t, you’ll definitely learn them (albeit it maybe painfully) along the way.

Aw, I love this, thank you!! Glad you enjoyed my writing. After having written so much about travel, it’s interesting to get such fulminant reactions for writing about Germany. I might have to do that more.

Also, I DID a SOAS finally, but I don’t see a thing to “linkup” so I’m just putting the link in my comment here:

THANKS FOR LINKING UP KIM, You are amazing!!
And I hear French is pretty easy when you know English in Spanish, so good for you for giving it a shot!
Parissssssssss…take me with you?
Mariella’s article about patriotism is brilliant! And she is so right. You aren’t just proud to be German. It would feel to weird and wrong. I can’t describe it.
Thanks for the backup – and the great compliment!
I’d love to have more Germans commenting the post with their own expert opinions… spread the word, the discussion in the comments is really interesting, I think.

You are welcome!Sometimes it is really weird to be a German in another country. I mean, I live in America where pretty much everybody is patriotic and that is find. But as a German you kind of “learned” not to be too patriotic because people could get that wrong. Even when you don’t say a word about the fact that you like your country everybody starts to talk about nazis.:)
I think that will change soon, don’t you think? Maybe after 100 years or so. Germany just has so much to be proud of these days and so many nations have pasts of treating people like crap and discriminating (hello USA)!
Yeah, I hope so! I mean, Germany is not the only country with a bad history!
I’m on BuzzFeed a lot these days too. Thanks for posting and feel free to drop by me too when you have time.

Why would anyone want to stick spaghetti into cut up hot dogs??!! Why?! Unless you were like five years old. Sick and wrong.

I feel like the spaghetti would break going into the hot dogs too… but guess not! So freaking strange.
P.S. Hope you had a great time in Paris. Next time, take that train further south until you get to The LPV.
