spring shades.
Spring is around the corner, which means the sun will actually come out in Germany (at least one can hope). I don’t know about y’all, but my eyes are sensitive! My parents told me I had to wear sunglasses home from the hospital. Pretty ridic, but ever since, I seriously can barely go outside without them. Sunglasses do a whole lot more than just protect your eyes from the sun. They also make all those potentially unattractive pictures more attractive and hide evidence of hangovers, crying, etc. Sunglasses are my long time friend, no doubt. I may or may not already have 8 pair to choose from, but what’s one more? You may notice a trend (hint: wayfarer).
These are just the ‘sunglasses I have in Germany collection’. The home stash opens up a whole other world.
Sure, I already have a selection of sunglasses in my room, but a new season means a new look. One can only wear a particular pair of shades in so many photos (or am I the only person that looks the same in every picture due to this fact?). Plus, my birthday’s in spring and I’ve gotta start working on my birthday list. So, where else go to but Glasses.com to select my next staple accessory? They have a seriously easy to navigate site with basically a million name brand styles to choose from. Oh, and free shipping BOTH ways and 30 day return – really can’t go wrong here. I’ve made a few of my favorite picks, but I need some help making a final decision.

I think I’d feel very modern Mad Men in these puppies.
I imagine these would do wonders on a hangover day.
I have some pretty great Turkish knock-offs of these, so why do I still always want the real deal?
Blog friends: help me out, which pair should I pick?

I am a fake ray ban wearing girl. Blue eyes blonde haired people need to wear sunglasses all the time. So annoying. Love the ones you chose
I think I have a million pairs of fake Ray Bans. No shame.
I am forever thankful for sunglasses in Southern Spain! My boyfriend bought me my first pair of wayfarers a few years ago, and I love the shape on mah face. I also splurged on a pair of aviators when I quit my last job. I totally fell in love with some gag-styled ones, but couldn’t justify 250€. Le sigh.
I love aviators and used to wear them all the time, but lately all of them feel so light on my face now that I’m used to the thicker frames and it’s confusing. What to do…
$100 or more for a pair of sunglasses? We used to buy them by the dozen for you, in multiple colors, reflective & non-reflective, for less than $1 a pair. You never complained, they worked just fine and as an added bonus, at that price, one doesn’tt care if they get broken, are lost or stolen.
Sun also nourishes the eyes. Obviously you shouldn’t look directly into the sun and protection is advisable in certain circumstances, like at the beach or when operating a motor vehicle at certain times, but a hat to shade your eyes and face likely more prudent and wise.
So, I vote for none of the above. Find a dollar store and get them on the cheap.
Love you, proud of, and for, you.
Come on springtime.
Always & Forever,
Daddio
I get my sunglasses for seven euros at the DM. I paid $79 for a pair of Gargoyles once, and only once- I destroy sunglasses so I don’t want to pay a ton for them.
That being said, I envy your chameleonlike ability to wear so many different styles. Ray Ban styles make me look like an insect, and the Oakley blade style tends to look strange also because my ears aren’t even. Weird, right?
That being said, I think the Ray-Ban Laramies would look hawt on you. It’s a very flattering frame shape.
haha I usually do buy my sunglasses from knock off street vendors, but I don’t know about my chameleonlike ability because I could order some of these and them look terrible, thus why I may have to stick with the wayfarer look because those I know work.
Mad Men ones. Slightly biased opinion, as the only sunglasses I can every pull off are the one’s that take up half your face jackie-o style!
Speaking of “the sun will actually come out in Germany (at least one can hope).” have you seen this article from theLocal.de?
“Winter will be ‘darkest on record’ in Germany” – http://www.thelocal.de/national/20130218-48041.html#.USeHRx2shPF
I’m going to Kathmandu (fingers crossed!) and I am so looking forwards to warm weather for a change!
Love the Chloe style! if you don’t them I will. ha
Oh my goodness – you have more sunglasses in Germany than i have in all, great collection!

Too bad it hasn’t been sunny here in awhile so I never get to wear them
I look terrible in most sunglasses. Most hats too come to think of it. And I HAVE to wear a hat (otherwise I am guaranteed to get sunstroke. Not fun!).
Weird reading about sunglasses when it’s currently snowing outside!
Oh, I have only two pairs: One thick and big pair of Ralph Lauren ones, and one pair of cheap mint coloured ones… From your choice, I would probably go for the first one, with the fine red rim (uhh, is that the word — too early for foreign languages it seems) as it completely differs in style from all the ones you already possess
Love,
Svenja

I love my cheap mint colored ones so much! I think I’m on my third pair. But rim is the word
Thanks Svenja!
My eyes are so sensitive too. It’s really bad!
I am in love with the first and the last pair!
Funny… I can show my husband your collection so he won’t be so annoyed with how many I have. I just broke down and actually bought a pair of Ray-Bans for the very first time and I think I’m gonna have to go with your Daddio. Stick with the budget friendly shades. But good picks and tough choice (Pssst.. the New Wayfarer is my vote from above though). Let us know the result:)
