Fun Fact: Many of the classic brown brick houses slant forward in Amsterdam. This is because back in the day they employed pulley systems to lift and move heavy objects into the upper levels (the staircases were too narrow). The beams have hooks at the top supported the system and the houses are built purposely slanting forward so the furniture and other objects did not hit and damage the buildings.

that is a fun fact, i did not know that. even with the worst boat tour i have ever been on in my life i did not figure that out. i especially like the condoms pictures.

The only think I know about Dutch houses is , that they are all build so super narrow because the tax the owner had to pay to the city council was related to the width of their property.
