the eurocup.
The final was this evening and Germany was not in it. We fell to Italy in a heartbreaker on Thursday night. Obviously disappointed as, let’s get real, that would have been one more super fun night. Congrats to Spain on the win. They are the only national team ever to win three major tournaments (Eurocup 2008, World Cup 2010, Eurocup 2012) in a row, so go them. Not bitter at all…
But really, I am not, because Eurocup 2012 provided loads of fun times here. Can’t you tell? Between watch parties and after parties, it was a fabulous excuse for everyone to get out of the house, grab some beer and cheer on a common cause. We did beat Portugal, the Netherlands, Denmark and Greece after all. I hope one day I can be here during World Cup season because if the Eurocup was like this, I can only imagine how fun the World Cup would be.
Sorry for my absence. Actually, no, I am not sorry. I am enjoying my last few days in Germany for awhile and that is nothing to apologize for. Right right? I’ll be back around these parts before ya know it. And I’ve got PLENTY to blog about. Until then…

I love your pictures, Alex! Thank you so much for sharing! I can imagine what wonderful time you had! Spain played a great game they definitely deserve the trophy!
The World Cup in Germany was amazing! It was one huge party!
Gosh Spain sure did kick some butt. I so hope I can be here for the next World Cup!
Aw, so sweet! I was cheering on both Germany and Italy, and it was so sad to see them both lose to Spain. They did so well though. Have a fun last few days in Germany though, soak it up!
Thanks Maria, I’m definitely soaking it up!
so fun!! i was in panama in 2006 during the world cup and was taking classes and the university had students from all over central and south america so during breaks we’d go to the student lounge and it was just so crazy and fun because there’s really nothing like it in the USA. Not even the superbowl, or football, because that’s just one day and the world cup is like weeks!!
have fun your last couple days!
Ah yeah any country that lvoes soccer tha tmuch, totally different experience. Sure the USA packs the bars, but certainly not the streets and the party doesn’t even compare.
oh my goodness that looks like so much fun! Can’t wait to hear about the rest of your adventures!
It was so fun being in Germany during the Euro Cup! I’m excited to know I’ll be there during the next World Cup and maybe I can even go to the next EC, since it’s in France!
oh whoa that’d be soo cool to go to the EC! You gotta! You’re going to be back in Germany before you know it woot!
IM SO JEALOUS! Way to live it up before you head out… would love to see a futbol game overseas! : )
